A well well-built project starts long before materials hit the site. In commercial construction, echnical documentation—submittals, shop drawings, and mockups—lays the foundation for successful execution.
At Grupo Contreras, we don’t just comply with these processes—we use them strategically to align expectations, resolve conflicts early, and guarantee high-quality outcomes.

What Are They and Why Do They Matter?
Submittals
These are material specs, product data sheets, finish samples, and certifications sent to the GC or architect for review. They ensure the materials match the project specs.
→ We submit clear, organized submittals including product data, brand info, technical sheets, samples when required, and quality certifications.
Shop Drawings
Detailed construction drawings that show exactly how we’ll install specific systems—walls, ceilings, transitions, corners, etc. They help spot conflicts with other trades before work begins.
→ Our shop drawings reflect real site conditions and coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP designs.
Mockups
Full-scale prototypes of key project elements. They allow teams to approve finishes, levels, connections, and techniques before full-scale installation.
→ For critical areas, we build mockups to get sign-off before proceeding with mass installation.
Why They Matter So Much?
- Prevent rework and field changes
- Visually align all stakeholders
- Spot design issues and clashes early
- Support smoother architect/client approvals
- Improve technical coordination with other trades
At Grupo Contreras, we don’t build blindly. Every detail is validated—on paper and in the field—before we go full scale. Because in commercial construction, details determine success.
